Amsterdam, July 23rd, 2010 – Edge Amsterdam gathers young creative talent in an online network for brands who need a fresh look at their brand, product or communication. The platform works with talented third or fourth year students from international creative educations and institutes. Crowdsourcing becomes ‘elite sourcing’, according to Edge since only the right 'crowd' leads to the right creation.
Edge connects young creative talent from around the world to ambitious brands. Talented students from educations like Hyper Island (Stockholm), School of Visual Arts (New York), Emily Carr (Vancouver), Royal College of Art (London) and the Willem de Kooning Academy (Rotterdam) join to gain experience and to work on real clients. Edge sets high standards on the quality level. Experienced creative professionals, who are also connected to Edge, ensure through coaching and counselling that brands receive qualitative ideas and concepts. This stringent selection makes Edge particularly cost-effective. Only by using specially selected international talents to work on the briefings, the young creative network has as little waste as possible.
Practical insights and concepts are offered by Edge to properly activate a brand in the future and respond to current trends in society. The result of working with Edge is a brand new vision, a refreshing retail concept, recommendations for a new target audience, an idea about using new media, a different perspective on societal trends, market developments, etc. Together with its customers Edge comes to new and surprising insights. Charly Heuschen, Norbert Pollemans and Derek Ariëns founded Edge Amsterdam. "Through contact with our customers, we saw a growing need for a young, fresh view on brands, products and communications", says Heuschen. Pollemans: "Brands want a glimpse into their future. Shortly after its launch, more than 280 creative talents have joined Edge. After some pilots the creative talents of Edge are now working on a joint project (Fund Event), which includes Robeco, Blackrock, Fidelity, ING Investment Management and Delta Lloyd. "The time is ripe for new sources of creativity." Ariëns says, "Worldwide and with the right talent, because quality will prevail".
